On that when Allah Communicates through Inspiration: Kitab al-Tawhid (The Book on Monotheism) by Abu Bakr b. Khuzaymah
-
The Heavens dread His speech and those
living in them become unconscious and prostrate before Allah.

When Allāh wants to deliver a message, He
speaks through revelation. (When He speaks) a tremor seizes the heaven (or
perhaps he used the words raᶜdatan shadīdatan, great tremor) for the
fear of Allāh. When the dwellers of the heaven hear this, they fall unconscious
and lie prostrating before Allah. The first one to raise his head is Gabriel.
Then Allāh speaks to him whatever He wants to reveal. Then Gabriel passes it to
the other angels. Whoever among the angels he passes in every heaven they ask
him: “What did our Lord say O Gabriel?” He tells them: “He told the truth, and
He is the Greatest, the Mightiest.” The Prophet said: “Then they repeat what he
says. Then Gabriel takes the revelation to wherever Allāh orders him to.”
